டிசம்பர் 3-ம் நாள் உலக மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள் தினமாக கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. இதையொட்டி 29-12-2012 அன்று சேலம் செளடேஸ்வரி கல்லூரியில் சுபம் சேரிடபுள் டிரஸ்ட், சேலம் சென்ட்ரல் ரோட்டரி சங்கம், சேலம் சென்ட்ரல் இன்னர்வீல் சங்கம் இணைந்து மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளுக்கான விளையாட்டுப்போட்டிகளை நடத்தியது.

நாம் அங்கே சென்றபொழுது மனவளர்ச்சி குன்றிய குழந்தைகள் கரம்கூப்பி வரவேற்றதுஆச்சரியத்தை ஏற்படுத்தியது. கால் ஊனமான மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள் வீல் சேரில் அமர்ந்தபடி விளையாட்டு போட்டிகளுக்கு தங்களை தயார்படுத்திக்கொண்டிருந்தனர். கண்பார்வை இழந்தவர்கள் ஒருவருக்கொருவர் தொட்டு அளவளாவிக்கொண்டிருந்தனர். ட்ரஸ்ட் உறுப்பினர்கள் இவர்களை ஒழுங்குபடுத்திக்கொண்டுருந்தனர்.ட்ரஸ்ட் உறுப்பினர்களில் பெரும்பாலானோர் மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

வயது வித்யாசமின்றி கலந்துகொண்ட மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளுக்கு, பெண்கள் மற்றும் ஆண்களுக்கென  தனித்தனி பிரிவாக நடைபெற்ற விளையாட்டுப் போட்டிகளில் ஆர்வத்துடன் கலந்து கொண்டவர்களை மற்ற மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள் கைகளை தட்டி  உற்சாகப்படுத்தினர். இதில் குறிப்பிட்டு சொல்லவேண்டிய விசயம் எனவென்றால், அவர்கள் முகத்தில் தவழ்ந்த புன்னகை.  சுயமாக தொழில் செய்பவர்கள், ஊனத்தை காரணம்காட்டி சமுதாயத்தில் புறக்கணிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள், மாற்றுத்திறனாளியாய் பிறந்ததால் மனவேதனைக்கு ஆளானவர்கள், அரசின் உதவியை எதிர்பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருப்பவர்கள், எதிர்காலம் என்னவென்றே தெரியாத மனவளர்ச்சி குன்றியவர்கள் என அவர்களின் புன்னகைய ரசித்துபார்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்த அவர்களின் பெற்றோர்களின் கண்களில் ஈரம் கசிந்ததை நம்மால் உணரமுடிந்தது.

போட்டிகளில்  வென்றவர்கள், தோற்றவர்களை ஆசுவாசப்படுத்தினர், தோற்றவர்கள் வென்றவர்களை பாராட்டினர். அவர்கள் வெற்றி தோல்வியை முக்கியமாக கருதாமல், விளையாட்டுபோட்டிகளில் கலந்துகொண்டதையே வெற்றிபெற்றதாய் எண்ணி கர்வதுடன் அங்கு வலம்வந்ததை காணமுடிந்த்தது.

மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகள் மகிழ்ச்சியோடு அன்றய பொழுதை கழித்தாலும், நாளை?

இதை எண்ணிப்பார்க்கும்போதுதான்,

“அரிது அரிது மானிடராய் பிறப்பது அரிது, அதனினும் அரிது கூன், குருடு, அரிது நீங்கி பிறத்தல் அரிது”

எனும் ஒவையின் கூற்று எவ்வளவு உண்மை என்பதை நம்மால்  உணரமுடியும். எனவே அடுத்த பிறவி என்பது உண்மை என்றால், மீண்டும் இவர்கள் இந்த மாற்றுத்திறனாளிகளின் உலகில் பிறக்கக்கூடாது என இறைவனை வேண்டுவோமாக….

இசை உலகிற்கு நம் தமிழகம் ,பழங்காலம் தொடங்கி பல கவிகளையும் , இசை வித்தகர்களையும் தந்துள்ளது . அன்றும் இன்றும் இசையும் இறைபற்றும்,கனியும் அதன் சுளையும் போல் இருந்தாலும் அதன் சுவை நம் தமிழே என்பதை யாரும் மறுக்க முடியாது. “பாலும் பசுந்தேனும் நான் தருவேன் ,சங்கத்தமிழ் மூன்றும் தா!!” என கேட்ட ஔவை முதல், “செந்திறத்த தமிழோசை” என திருமங்கையாழ்வார் தொடர பலரும் இறைவனையும் தன் தமிழ் மொழியையும் , கண்ணும் அதன் ஒளியும் ஒப்ப போற்றி வாழ்ந்தனர் . பிற்காலத்தில் உமறுபுலவரும் , வீரமாமுனிவரும் இதற்கு விதிவிலக்கில்லை.

அவர் அவர் தம் இறைவனை துதிக்க தமிழிசை பாடல்கள் பல இருந்தாலும்,இடையே சமஸ்க்ருதமும் , தெலுங்கும் கர்நாடக இசையில் பெரும்பங்கை கவர்ந்து நம் தமிழ் இறைபக்தி பாடல்களை மேகம் போற்றிய மேருவாய் செய்தது . இதற்கு பல அரசியல் காரணங்கள் இருந்தாலும் தமிழர்களாகிய நாம் நம் இறைவனை தமிழிசையால் உணர்வதே உன்னதம்.பொதுவாக தன் வாழ்வை இறைவனுக்காக சமர்பித்து பல பாமாலைகள் தொடுத்து இறைவனடி சேர்ந்த இறைகவிகளுக்கு ” ஆராதனை ” எனும் நிகழ்வு நடைபெறும். இதில் மிகவும் பிரபலம் திருவையாற்றில் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் நடைபெறும் தியாகராஜ சுவாமிகள் ஆராதனை .இதில் முக்கிய நிகழ்வாய் தெலுங்கு மற்றும் சமஸ்க்ருதத்தில் இயற்றபட்ட பஞ்சரத்ன கீர்த்தனைகள் பாடப்படும் . காவிரி ஆற்றங்கரையில் இறைமனம் செழிக்கும் ஒரு அரிய தருணம் . ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் தென்னிந்திய இசை வித்வான்கள் , பாடகர்கள் அனைவரும் கலந்துகொள்ளும் இசை நிகழ்வு இது.

இதே போல் ஆராதனை நிகழ்வு நம் சேலம் மாவட்டம், ஆத்தூர் அருகேயுள்ள ஆணையாம்பட்டி எனும் கிராமத்தில் ஆதிசேஷ ஐயர் என்று வாழ்ந்து 1975 ஆம் வருடம் சந்நியாசம் பெற்ற சுவாமி ஸ்ரீ குஹானந்த பாரதி சுவாமிகளின் ஆராதனை நிகழ்வு டிசம்பர் 5 ஆம் நாள் நடைபெற்றது. இதன் தனி சிறப்பு இவர் இயற்றிய பாடல்கள் அனைத்தும் தமிழ் பாடல்களே. .தமிழ் கடவுள் என போற்றப்படும் முருகபெருமானை தலைவனாய் கொண்டு இயற்றபெற்றது . இவர் இயற்றிய பாடல்கள் பல பழம்பெரும் புகழ் பெற்ற திரை பாடகர்களாகிய கே . பி .சுந்தராம்பாள் , மதுரை திரு. சோமு, பி.வி. ராமன், பி. வி.லக்ஷ்மணன் போன்ற ஜாம்பவான்களால் பாடபெற்றவை. மேலும் இவரது பாடல்களை ஜலதரங்க வித்வான்கள் ஆணையாம்பட்டி திரு.எஸ் தண்டபாணி, திரு எஸ். கணேசன் அவர்களால் இசைக்க பெற்றன. தன் வாழ்வில் அருணகிரிநாதர் பாடிய “திருபுகழ் ” பாடல்களுக்கு பந்தாதி இயற்றியுள்ளார் .இவர் பெயரில் ” சுவாமி குஹானந்தா திருபுகழ் சபா” நமது சேலம் மாநகரில் செயல்பட்டு வருகிறது . இவர் இயற்றிய பாடல்களில் ” என்ன கவி பாடினாலும்” இன்றைய இசை பாடகர்ளாகிய அருணா சாய்ராம், வித்யா அருண் போன்ற சிறந்த பாடகர்கள் பலர் பாடி புகழ் சேர்க்கிறார்கள் . இப்பாடலின் தொகுப்பை இணையத்தில் காணலாம்.

இந்த ஆராதனை நிகழ்வில் திருப்புகழ் இசை கலைஞர்கள் மற்றும் பலர் கலந்துகொண்டு திருப்புகழ் பாடல்களையும், சுவாமிகள் இயற்றிய கீர்தனைகளையும் பாடி அவர் நினைவிடம் முன் மரியாதை செலுத்தினர் .காவடி , கும்மி,கோலாட்டம் போன்ற நிகழ்வுகளும் நடந்தன. ஆராதனை நிகழ்வு முழுதும் இசைத்தமிழ் இன்ப ஆறாய்ப் பெருக்கெடுத்தது என்பதில் ஐய்யமில்லை !!. இதே போல் நாமும் எந்த மரபவராய் இருந்தாலும் நம் இறைவனை நம் செம்மொழியாம் தமிழ்மொழியிலே அனுபவிக்கலாமே!!!

The New year, Christmas and Pongal are fast approaching Southern railways have started their special train services to various destinations.  A new train service Chennai Express (06042) from Coimbatore Junction to Chennai Egmore via Salem and Villupuram is on rails every Fridays and Tuesdays. The train arrives to Salem junction by 18:30 Hours and halts for 25 minutes. then the train arrives to Salem Town station by 19:08 Hours and departs by 19:10 Hours.  The train became more special as it go through Tambaram which serves as a satellite point for IT corridors in Chennai. This Train Reduces the festive time haste and a good news for lot many people working in Chennai  who longs to reach Salem for their festivals.

Salem Steel Plant, (SSP), a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), has won the prestigious National Sustainability Award for the year 2011-12 from Indian Institute of Metals (IIM). Shri DRS Chaudhary, Secretary, Ministry of Steel, gave away the award in the presence of Shri Beni Prasad Verma, Hon’ble Minister of Steel, which was received by Shri SS Mohanty, Director (Technical), SAIL and Shri SK Khare, General Manager (Works), Salem Steel Plant, at a glittering function during the 50th National Metallurgists’ Day celebrations held at Jamshedpur on November 16, under the aegis of Govt of India, Ministry of Steel. Chairman SAIL, Shri CS Verma, and CEO Bhilai Steel Plant, Shri S Chandrasekaran, were also present on the occasion.

SSP has won the first prize among the Secondary Steel Plants / Alloys Steel Plants category for the year 2011-12. Salem Steel Plant has bagged this award consecutively for the 9th time and 16th time since inception of this award in the year 1991. The award symbolizes SSP’s commitment to quality and further enhances the value of its brand, Salem Stainless.

The Ferrous Division of the Indian Institute of Metals has been organising the National Quality Competition since 1991 to encourage and recognise the quality control aspects in the steel sector.

ஒவ்வொராண்டும் நவம்பர் முதல் நாள் “சேலம் டே எனும் சேலம் தினம்” கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகிறது. இந்த ஆண்டு நவம்பர் நான்காம் நாள் ஞாற்றுக்கிழமை அன்று சேலம் டி.வி.என் திருமண மண்டபத்தில் அது சற்று விமர்சையாக கொண்டாடப்பட்டது. இண்டேக் மற்றும் தருணம் எனும் இரண்டு அமைப்புகள் சேலம் நகராட்சி உருவான இந்த நாளை கடந்த ஐந்து வருடமாக கொண்டாடி வருகிறது. சேலம் மக்களின் வரலாறு, கலை, பண்பாடு, பாரம்பரியத்தை நினைவுபடுத்தும் விதமாகவும், அதன் அருமையை உணர்த்தும் விதமாகவும் இந்த விழாவை நடத்தினர். அனைத்து சேலம் மக்களுக்கும் இவ்விழாவிற்கு அழைப்பு கொடுத்துதிருந்ததால் அன்று முழுவதும் கலை கட்டியது அந்த அரங்கம்!

வித்யா பீதம், க்ளேஷ் ப்ரூக், ஹோலி ஏஞ்சல்ஸ் போன்ற மெட்ரிக் பள்ளிகளின் மாணவ மாணவிகள் ஸ்டால்கள் போட்டு நம் பாரம்பரிய சின்னங்களை பற்றியும் நம் முன்னோர்கள் உபயோகபடுத்திய பழம்பெருமை வாய்ந்த பொருட்கள் பற்றியும் மிகஅழகாக விளக்கினர். முதலில் ராஜாஜி படத்தையும், அடுத்து பெரியார் படத்தையும் போட்டு சேலத்தில் பிறந்த தலைவர்கள் படத்தை எல்லாம் வரிசைபடுத்தி பேனர் செய்து இருந்தனர். பாரம்பரியமான சமையலை செய்து சுவையான உணவு வழங்கியதோடு இல்லாமல் அவற்றின் செய்முறை பற்றியும் அதில் உள்ள சத்துக்கள் பற்றியும் மாணவிகள் எடுத்துரைத்தது மிக மிக அருமை. அங்கு மதிய உணவுக்காக போடப்பட்ட ஸ்டால் இல் மறக்கப்பட்ட உணவுகள் என்று நம் பாரம்பரிய மற்றும் சத்தான உணவுகளை இன்றைய தலைமுறைனருக்கு ஏற்றார் போல் அமைத்திருந்ததும் வரவேற்க்கதக்கது!

பட்டிமன்றம், பரதநாட்டியம் என பள்ளி மாணவ மாணவிகள் அமர்களப்படுத்த, கையில் தீச்சட்டியும் தலையில் கரகமும் வைத்து நடனமாடிய ஒரு சிறுமி அந்த அரங்கையே அதிரவைத்தாள் எனலாம். மாணவிகளின் குடும்பம் பற்றிய நாடகம் நம்மை சிரிக்கவும் சிந்திக்கவும் வைத்தது. வண்ணத்து பூச்சிகளின் கூட்டமோ என வியக்கவைத்து கண்களுக்கு விருத்தளித்தது கண்மணிகளின் நடனம். கலைவல்லுனர்களின் கத்திசண்டை, கம்புசண்டை, மான்கொம்பு சண்டை போன்ற சாகசங்கள் அரங்கை மலைக்க வைத்ததுடன் பழங்கால தற்காப்பு கலைகளை நினைவுறும் வகையில் அமைத்தது பாராட்டுக்குரியதாகும்!

நமது சேலம் ஜில்லா டாட் காம் குழுவும் இந்நிகழ்வுகளில் பங்கேற்று சேலத்தின் பல்வேறு இடங்களின் அழகை புகைப்படங்களாய் கண்காட்சி அமைத்திருந்தோம்.

First day of November is observed as Salem day every year, as a reminiscence of formation of Salem municipal council in the year 1866 in British India. This year Salem day Celebrations come to pass on November 4 in TVN kalyana mandapam, Gandhi Road, Salem from 9.30 AM to 5.00 PM.

                 Like-minded people of Salem joined together to form  non-profit member associations called Tarunam,  Tree Club, Intach, Tremors, YES(Youth empowering the Society) , Wildlife & Environmental society of Salem ( WESS) and CII with a prime objective to reclaim the ecological & social grandeur of Salem and make a pleasant livable Salem for the generations to come.                   Events started with a talk show Naetru, indru, Naalai which had a healthy discussion about Past, Present and Future of the city recorded for television telecast as well. ”Salem Municipal” council was constituted.on 1st November 1866. It is therefore now celebrated as Salem Day. Tarunam, a member institution interested in the development of Salem, was celebrating it associating itself with various organizations for the past couple of years. This year also the above cited institution and groups are celebrating the same with a view to create an ecological and social awareness in and around Salem.

The history of civilizations from 4000BC to 40000BC was recently discovered in Yercaud. Evidences of a greater stone age civilization in and around Salem was discovered by him. A recent treasure finding around Salem makes it clear that Roman establishments flourished here in timeStalwarts like Rajaji, Ramasamy Mudaliyar, Semmandapatty Venkatappa Chettiar, have been chairmen of the municipality. Graves of people like Robert Bruce Foote who is known as the father of archeology and who tooks before Christ.

நம் தமிழர்களின் கலாச்சாரத்தில் மறுக்க முடியாத சக்தியாக கருதப்படுவது தெய்வசக்தி. இதையொட்டி நிறைய  நம்பிக்கைகளும், மூட நம்பிக்கைகளும் அவரவர் வாழ்கின்ற பகுதியை பொறுத்து கடைபிடிக்கப்படுகின்றது. அவ்வகையான நம்பிக்கையில் ஒன்றுதான் வாக்கு சொல்வது அல்லது குறி சொல்வது என்பது. ஒரு மனித உடலில் இறைவன் இறங்கி சொல்லவதை வாக்கு சொல்வது என்று கூறுவார்கள். ஆனால் சேலத்தில் ஒரு கோவிலில் வித்யாசமான ஒரு நம்பிக்கை!  இறைவனே நேரடியாக  பூக்களின் மூலம் தங்களின் எதிர்கால வாழ்கையை வழி நடத்துகிறார் என்று சேலத்தின் ஒரு பகுதி மக்கள் ஆணித்தரமாக நம்புகின்றனர். அதற்க்கு முன்னதாக இக்கோவிலின் வரலாற்றினை நாம் பார்ப்போம்.

கோவில் அமைவிடம் : -                

சேலம் நகரத்தின், கொண்டலாம்பட்டிக்கு அருகில் அமைந்துள்ள   நாட்டாமங்கலம்  எனும் பகுதியில்  ஒரு சிறிய மலை மீது ஸ்ரீ சென்றாய பெருமாள் கோவில் உள்ளது. இது பூ வாக்கு பெருமாள் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது

ஸ்ரீ சென்றாய பெருமாள் கோவில் வரலாறு  :-
                 1906 ஆம் ஆண்டு  சேலம் குகை பகுதியை சார்ந்த திரு. கே.ஆர்.டி. ரங்கசாமி செட்டியார் இக்கோவிலுக்கான மூலஸ்தான மண்டபத்தை அமைத்தார் என்றும், அவருக்கு கூட சுயம்புவாக பெருமாள் தோன்றிய ஆண்டும், வரலாறும் தெரியாது என்று இன்றும் இக்கோவிலை நிர்வாகித்துவரும்   கே.ஆர்.டி. ரங்கசாமி செட்டியார் குடும்பத்தினர் தெரிவிக்கின்றனர். அதன் பிறகு 1947   ஆம் ஆண்டு அந்த கோவிலின் முன்மண்டபம் அமைக்கப்பட்டது என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர். ஆங்கிலியர்களின் கால கட்டத்தில் இக்கோவில் பள்ளிக்கூடமாகவும் செயல்பட்டதாம்.

பூ வாக்கு என்பது என்ன? :-
சுயம்புவாக தோன்றிய பெருமாளின் தோள்களின் இரு புறமும் பூக்கள் வைக்கப்படுகிறது, பிறகு நம்முடைய கோரிக்கை பூசாரியின் மூலம் பெருமாளுக்கு வைக்கப்படுகிறது. பூசாரியும் நம்முடைய கோரிக்கையை சத்தமாக மூலஸ்தானத்தில் உள்ள பெருமாளிடம் கூறுகிறார். அதன் பிறகு வலது தோலின் மீதுள்ள பூ தரையில் விழுந்தால் அக் காரியம் நிறைவேறும் என்றும், இடது தோலின் மீதுள்ள பூ தரையில் விழுந்தால் நிறைவேறாது என்றும் கூறுகின்றனர். இப்பகுதியில் உள்ள மக்களில் அநேகம் பேர் இப்படி பூ வாக்கு பெற்ற பிறகுதான் திருமண வரனை நிச்சயிக்கிறார்கள் .

                    தமிழர்களின் வாழ்க்கை இறை நம்பிக்கையோடு  பின்னிபிணைந்தது என்பதற்கு இக் கோவில் ஒரு சிறந்த உதாரணம்…

The OECD Global Youth Video Competition 2012

With the mission to promote economic and social well-being globally, Paris-based Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) organised short video competition for youth around the world for their 50^th anniversary last year. Sona College of Technology’s IT student Ms R Vidhya Priyadarshini bagged the Special Mention Prize for her video ‘Tomorrow in Our Hands’ that answered ‘What is Progress?’. She was invited to attend the OECD forum that was chaired by US Secretary of State Ms Hillary Clinton and the prize included an all-expense paid trip to Paris, France.

Similarly this year also OECD is eager to hear Youth’s Ideas and Ms R Vidhya Priyadarshini along with her five fellow winners from Peru, Colombia, Ukraine and Australia have been asked to organise the event as Youth Co-organiser for The Global Youth Video Competition 2012. She says, “The challenge and opportunity, as well as the OECD’s motivation to listen to youth on global issues, was what drew me to the previous OECD Video Competition. Youth is traditionally characterised by a fresh, fearless, positive and highly energetic approach that can help us to achieve our goals in life. That’s the reason why around the world we are saying ‘Youth Can!’ By nurturing and channelling this enthusiasm, young people can build a better future with better policies. The OECD provides a platform for showcasing your ideas to the world. Now pool your thoughts into a video and let your idea be the reason for the world to smile tomorrow!”

Anyone aged between 18 and 25 years can participate by making a short video (3 minutes max.) and submit it within March 31^st 2012. The Winners get an all-expense paid trip to Paris, France to attend the OECD Forum on 22-24 May 2012.

Its well known kollywood flourishing  the new technology and advancements with all its projects accommodating younger minds coming in with novice thoughts and international outlook. In the mean time, decades back Tamil film industry given a labor pain by its very own child ” The Modern theaters” in 1935.

Salem well known as Steel city & Mango city was once originally an aboard  to Many of drama artists includes singers.musicians,actors,film makers.The first voice movie of Tamil “Sathi Agalya”, the first color film ” alibaba and forty thieves ” are the Master pieces of tamil industry which sparked its growth to adorable heights. Modern theaters have its won fame and pride where three chief ministers of our state Ms.Jayalalitha,M.Karunanithi and M.G.Ramachandran started their carrier which made them great artist down the lane.Also many other artists are the products of the modern theaters which is a well known fact.

The Dusk was unfortunate for modern theaters with its last film “vettri namadhae” in 1984. The whole modern theater studios,dressing rooms,parks was demolished and they constructed villas and apartments. The frontier entrance gate made in hardstone is kept as a monument witnessing its glory and gratitude.

The air of bliss is flowing across the city in the Wednesday evening (28/12/11) , in the event of  Audio release function of the movie ” Nee Enakaga mattum” in Nehru kaliarangam,Bose grounds facilitated by honorable mayor soundappan as a  chief guest and many other VIP’s in the city. They started this film two years ago in their very  own studio and company name “The New Modern film Makers” which comprises the team of ten young blood salemites with firing vision to revamp the identity of Salem in tamil movie industry.

The director of film K.B.Shakthivel appreciated and thanked all his teammates and wellwishers who helped in the tenure and made it as success also he added to provide a great support from Press and people to make the movie a grand success. Music director Jeevan mayil, assistant of music director deva  expressed his whole hearted gratitude for giving him the chance and for providing support for his work. This Audio release was something special and different from other audio releases where eminent citizens of Salem played a vital role both as a guests clubbing people from all sectors who are with common interest. As the part of this release they had a festive march from Vellakalpatti,a village near Salem for a cover of 10km. Two songs with visuals was played which impulsed a great expectation on the movie. The Audio release function was a grand success and it planted a seed of confidence that Salem will again get her jubilance again!!!..
