Republic Day Celebration in Salem Steel Plant

The 62nd Republic Day was celebrated at SAIL, Salem Steel Plant.  At a colourful function held at the plant’s Hill View Stadium, Shri Pankaj Gautam, Executive Director, hoisted the national tricolour and took the salute from the contingent of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Mohan Nagar township security personnel and school children of Sri Vidya Mandir Matric Higher Secondary School.   A large number of school children, employees and their families participated in the function.

Speaking on the occasion, Shri Gautam pointed out the progress made by the country in which SAIL has played a significant role.  He appreciated the contributions made by Salem Steel Plant employees and urged them to continue to give their best to increase productivity and profitability.  He also exhorted the school children to build a more powerful and vibrant India, as the future lay in their hands.

Long service awards were given by the Executive Director to the employees who had completed 25 years of service in the plant.  Awards and prizes were also distributed to the CISF, township security personnel, teachers and school children on the occasion.   A colourful cultural programme was also presented by the school children.
