The Central Law College here has been indefinitely closed from Thursday following student unrest.
A press release from its Chief Executive Officer A. Manickam said that students had been staging a sit-in strike in the college in protest against the poor percentage of results in the examinations held in May by Dr. Ambedkar Law University. The college management held talks with them but in vain.
Hence, as per the demand of students, a Senate member from the University came and met students, who also submitted a petition.
He also assured them that he would do the needful for the welfare of students for which he said he needed time.
But the students had refused to accept his demand and continued their agitation inside the college.
Hence the college administration had decided to close the institution indefinitely.
