Water Release from Mettur Dam

The government has issued orders to let water from the Stanley Reservoir from September 1 to its East and West channels that will irrigate 45,000 acres of land in Salem, Erode and Namakkal districts from September 1.
Initially, 400 cusecs of water will be released, which will be increased gradually to 1,000 cusecs. The supply will be for a total of 137 days.
