Salem Steel Plant Organises Health Camp

Salem Steel Plant (SSP) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative organised a heath camp at Naranampalayam village, about 25 km away from the plant, recently.
Pankaj Gautam, Executive Director, Salem Steel Plant, inaugurated the camp in the presence of TK Mazumdar, General Manager (Personnel and Administration), Jayarakkini Primary School Correspondent Fr. Arulappan, villagers and SSP employees. Mr. Gautam also handed over medical cards to the patients for getting further treatment.
During the camp, as many as 604 persons had benefitted. A total of 218 blood sugar tests had been taken and 55 persons screened for anaemia. Common illnesses such as fever, cold, skin diseases and digestive disorders were attended to.
After examination by a team of doctors duly supported by paramedical staff, medicines were distributed free of cost to the patients. For diseases requiring further treatment, appropriate advice was given to them.
