As Tamil Nadu Electricity Board will undertake maintenance works at its sub-station at Mettur on September 2, water supply to Salem city and other wayside habitations will remain suspended on September 2 and September 3. A release from Corporation Commissioner K.S.Palaniswamy said that the pumping station located under jurisdiction of the sub-station at Mettur would not receive power to supply water. He asked the public to utilise water judiciously.
