Complete Developement Works in Salem District By December End – Salem Collector

The development works in the district should be completed by the end of December, Collector J. Chandrakumar told the officials of various departments.

Meeting the officials here, the Collector said that the objective of it was to share the details discussed at the Chief Minister’s meeting held last week. Salem district stood first in the distribution of colour TV sets (7.58 lakh).

Similarly, free gas stoves had been distributed to all genuine beneficiaries.

The Collector said that the Chief Minister had told them that all social welfare schemes such as old age pension, widow pension, marriage assistance schemes etc., should be sympathetically approached as the beneficiaries were poor and the needy.

The works under Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Scheme should be completed by December end.

Work orders should be issued to all beneficiaries under the Kalaignar Housing Scheme.

The details of the works to be completed and already completed should be given to him at the earliest.

Officials must take special efforts to enlist fresh men self-help groups. Village Administrative Officers must stay in the villages to which they were posted.

The details of the meeting should also reach the officials at grass root level, he said.

District Revenue Officer V. Kalai Arasi, Revenue Divisional Officers M.G. Kulandaivelu (Salem), Ms. Sirajinnisa (Attur), P. Velu (Mettur), M.R. Subramanian (Sankagiri) and Joint Director of Agriculture Karunanidhi took part.
