Arrangements made for visitors to reach various venues
City Police have effected changes in traffic movement in the city on Friday in view of the Chief Minister’s visit to Salem to attend a series of functions. It will come into force from 10 a.m.
For those who want to attend the inaugural function of Super Speciality Hospital and new Collectorate building, the police have made a few arrangements for the traffic to move smoothly.
Vehicles coming from Omalur and Mettur can enter the city and pass through the Omalur Road and reach the Collectorate, where passengers can alight.
The vehicles can be parked on Venkatappan Road, Gokulanatha Hindu School Road, Town Railway Station Road and Government Arts College and Little Flower Higher Secondary School grounds.
Those coming from Attur can come up to Mulluvadi Gate and the vehicles can be parked in the above mentioned areas.
Vehicles from Mallur, Tiruchengode and Sankagiri can come via Trichy Main Road and Pulikuthu Street and park at Apsara Down, Riverside Road, Gundupodum Street and CSI School ground.
These vehicles will be allowed between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Meeting
For the public meeting at Pallapatti, vehicles coming from Omalur and Mettur can pass through Five Roads and go to Itery Road.
Visitors can park vehicles in the open space available opposite the venue of the public meeting.
Those coming from Salem town can come via New Bus Stand and park the vehicles in the open space.
Vehicles from Attur can pass through Sundar Lodge, Pallapatti and park at Mariamman temple ground and at places in Three Roads.
Vehicles from Tiruchengode, Malur and Sankagiri would be parked near Kandampatti bridge, Jayalakshmi petrol bunk and Tiruvakoundanur rountana.
