Government exhibition inaugurated in Salem
It showcases the schemes of various departments

The government exhibition was inaugurated at Bose Maidan here on Monday by Agriculture Minister Veerapandi S. Arumugam.
Minister for Information Parithi Ilamvazhuthi presided over the function in which Mayor J. Rekha Priyadarshini took part.
Mr. Arumugam said that every year the exhibition in Salem had drawn large crowds.
It not only benefitted the traders but also showcased the schemes of various departments. It, in fact, had been serving as a tool for the administration to make general public aware of the welfare schemes of the government, he said.
Collector J. Chandrakumar welcomed the gathering while Director (Information) K. Baskaran explained about the objective behind the exhibition. Salem Public Relations Officer Lingam and G. Manikumar, Deputy Director (Exhibition) proposed a vote of thanks.
The Minister also went around the exhibition and saw various stalls that had been put up by government departments. Twenty-three government stalls, including two from Central Government, have been erected. The rest are private stalls.
