Salem ISKCON’s ‘Rath Yatra’

The ISKCON organised Lord Jagannath’s Ratha Yatra in Salem on Tuesday.
The Salem unit of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) organised a ‘Rath Yatra’ of Puri’s Lord Jagannath here for the first time on Tuesday.
The colourfully decorated car carrying Lord Jagannath with Lord Baldeva and goddess Subhadra was taken through important thoroughfares of the city.
The Yatra began near the Collectorate complex.
After covering important places, it culminated near Sri Sugavaneshwarar Temple.
Bhajans and hymns were sung. Large number of devotees took part.
Later in the evening devotees and religious heads took part in bhajans and special poojas at AVR Kalyana Mandap to mark the car festival.
