Draft photo electoral rolls for Salem released

The draft photo electoral rolls for Salem (North) and Salem (South) assembly segments were published here on Monday.

Releasing the rolls, Salem Corporation Commissioner K.S. Palanisamy said the draft rolls would be kept for public display at all the schools in the two constituencies from November 10 to 25.

The Salem (North) assembly segment has 64 polling stations and Salem (South) has 52 polling stations. The civic administration will carry out inclusion, deletion, correction and change of address with January 1, 2009 as qualifying date at all these polling stations. Special camps will be held for the people on November 16 and 23. Those who born before 31.12.1990 are eligible to include their names in the rolls. Forms for inclusion, deletion, correction and change of address can be obtained from the respective polling stations.

Officials and headmasters of the schools has been deputed to distribute and collect the forms from the electors.

People who have migrated from other constituencies should submit Form 6 for inclusion of their names. Along with the Form 6, they should submit a passport size photograph and a filled in Form 001A. Those who are submitting Form 8 to replace the wrongly published photo should also submit the Form 001A and a passport size photograph. A photocopy of the family card, bank pass book or an identity proof should be enclosed along with Form 6 and Form 8A (change of address). Currently, Salem (North) constituency has 1,80,832 voters and Salem (South) has 1,80,968 voters.
